Casual Engagement Photos in Cambridge, MA

Capturing these casual engagement photos in Cambridge stood out as a highlight of October for various reasons. Cory and Penn were so much fun to photograph. Throughout the session, it felt like we had been friends forever. Their authenticity as a couple truly shined through during the documentary style photoshoot.

The Story of Cory + Penn

Cory and Penn first crossed paths in college at Penn State, and moved into their first apartment together right outside of Boston. They were eager to capture engagement  photos to remember this unique chapter in their lives in Cambridge, the city where they first lived together!

Boston Fall Colored Engagement Photoshoot in Cambridge

Cory and Penn couldn’t have chosen a better day to take their engagement photos in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was a perfect fall day —not too hot or cold, and the foliage truly came to play, making for a beautiful backdrop for their engagement session.

A Casual Engagement that Feels like a Fun Date in Cambridge Boston

Cory and Penn showed up to their photoshoot ready to enjoy a fun, date-like experience.Their vibrant energy and willingness to simply go with the flow, while having a great time together shines through in their final photos. Throughout the engagement photoshoot, we hopped  around to different spots that held special memories for Cory and Penn in Cambridge.

Our first stop was at a cozy neighborhood dive, Plough and Stars, where Cory and Penn frequented often when they lived in their first apartment together. Cory and Penn’s choice of cozy and casual outfits effortlessly played into that candid, natural vibe that my shooting style encompasses.

We then headed to Cambridge Commons, a local park with incredible foliage in the fall. I usually play music that the couple loves during my photoshoots to help with the nerves that we all get when in front of the camera. As it turned out, we all shared a fondness for the same artist, Noah Kahan. The whole photoshoot had vibes his music epitomizes — the energy of a New England fall and romance.

We wrapped up their shoot at their current  apartment so they’d had photos of the place where they spent their engagement together. This was such an intimate moment and a special way to end their fall engagement photoshoot.

Love Notes From Cory + Penn

“Maddy is THE BEST! I did hours of research looking for the perfect engagement photographer in the Boston/Cambridge area and ended up choosing Maddy. She went above and beyond during our session and I am absolutely obsessed with the way the pictures turned out. Lots of movement, real giggles, and un-posed. If you’re looking for a sign of who to book, this is it. Book Maddy, you’ll be so happy you did! Afterwards all we could say was how much fun we had, and it was the best investment to remember this special time in our lives. Thank you Maddy <3”
