Caitlin & Issac’s Story
Caitlin & Isaac met at the University of New Hampshire on September 28, 2014, exactly 10 years before their wedding day. They went on to be friends throughout college, bonding over similar interests and sharing similar upbringings as New Hampshire kids. The beginning of their senior year is when they decided to make their relationship official, and they were pretty much inseparable from then on! They both moved to NYC after graduation, and Isaac proposed over the 4th of July weekend. They got to planning their intimate New Hampshire wedding right away.
A Vintage Fall Wedding in New Hampshire
Caitlin & Isaac’s wedding vision was for a colorful and cozy wedding day. They wanted it to feel like it came right out of a 90’s rom-com (obsessed with this). When it came to finding a photographer to capture their intentional wedding day, they knew they wanted a documentary, film-inspired wedding photographer who would capture the true essence and emotion of their day. From Caitlin’s vintage wedding gown, to the framed childhood pictures of them lining their guest table, this amazing couple poured their heart into every element of their fall wedding day.

“We kept describing our wedding vision as romantic, cozy & vintage,” said Caitlin. “We were lucky enough to utilize the property at Isaac’s family home as our backyard wedding venue, which would make the day special in itself.”
The most important aspect for Caitlin & Isaac was that the day felt like one big “love-fest party.” To say they achieved that vibe is an understatement.

Vintage Bridal Gown for a Romantic Fall Wedding
One of Caitlin’s favorite details from her wedding day was her vintage wedding dress. She found her dress at a vintage bridal store in New York City, Happy Aisles. It was truly to DIE for. Paired with her go-to hairstyle (a slicked back bun) and natural bridal makeup, her understated bridal look let her natural beauty shine and was an absolute favorite of 2024.

They opted to have their first look down be their ceremony aisle, as if to recreate the moment that would come shortly after of her walking down the aisle. If you’re debating on whether or not to do a first look on your wedding day, I 10/10 recommend!!

The front porch, fields, and of course, the gorgeous foliage that makes New England fall so magical set the backdrop for fun, romantic and organic wedding portraits from this beautiful New Hampshire backyard wedding.

Candid Wedding Photos with their Wedding Party
I’m always anticipating those in-between glances, hugs and laughs shared between the couple & their friends during wedding party photos, because that’s where the true emotion shines through. As a documentary-style wedding photographer, my goal is to keep wedding party photos fun and laid back. I truly believe that the laughs will come organically when you’re able to enjoy the moment — not feeling like photos are a forced formality.

A Willow Tree Wedding Ceremony
The willow tree is a favorite spot for Caitlin & Isaac on his family’s property. They opted to skip a traditional ceremony arch and have the willow tree be the focal point of their fall wedding ceremony. Autumn mums lined the ceremony aisle, and the New Hampshire mountain views set the scene.

The post-ceremony celebration between the couple & their loved ones immediately following their ceremony is one of my all-time favorite moments on a wedding day. Emotion is high, and it’s a time where I’m able to capture so many amazing candid wedding photos between the couple and their friends & family.

We popped outside for a few minutes after their ceremony to grab a few “just married” pics and for the newlyweds to check out the decorated tent before guests entered. Setting aside 10 minutes after the ceremony to step away with your partner is something I recommend to all of my couples. It flows into the timeline so well, allows you take a breath, have a drink, and soak in the fact that you’re literally married!! Caitlin & Isaac wanted a relaxed design for their fall backyard wedding. Neutral linens, dark wooden chairs, and colorful florals and candles were the focal point of the decor. Mixing bud vases and full centerpieces is a creative floral idea that adds an effortless yet intentional feel to your wedding reception decor. The light pouring into the tent during golden hour, mixed with the vintage-inspired decor was ethereal.

After dinner, Caitlin planned a sweet moment to step away with her best friends to change to her second outfit. To her surprise, they gifted her a diamond necklace, which she paired with this floor-length wedding reception dress to wear out on the dance floor! It was such an intimate moment and so special to capture this sweet moment between her and her best friends.
